ABOUT FILIPINOS FOR GUÅHAN
Filipinos for Guåhan is comprised of members who call Guåhan home, and who have ancestral roots in the Philippines. Filipinos for Guåhan stands in solidarity with the CHamoru people to nurture and safeguard Guåhan’s lands, air, oceans, and her people. We collaborate with Filipinos across Oceania and the Pacific who are dedicated to decolonization and justice for Indigenous peoples globally.

Stands in support of decolonization on Guåhan, through various decolonial practices:
Commits to standing in solidarity with the CHamoru people in the movement toward self-determination as a way to address centuries of colonial injustices
Promotes arts sovereignty to express and highlight issues Filipinos face in Guåhan and the Philippine archipelago
Encourages food sovereignty efforts to provide culturally relevant, affordable, and sustainable foods that restore wellness
Advocates for equitable access to healthcare and mental health as a way to heal from historical trauma
Fights for workers’ rights to address economic & labor inequalities
Acknowledges that inafa’maolek is a critical component of how we see ourselves in and contribute to the wellbeing of Guåhan’s community
Recognizes the role of Filipinos in decolonization on Guåhan and ensure that our practices respect and honor the values of inafa’maolek
Connects the decolonization movement in Guåhan to global struggles for social justice
